Esavian Stacking chairs by James Leonard for ESA, 1950s, restored, pair

A British style icon. The ubiquitous ply / cast alloy Esavian stacking school chair designed by James Leonard c1948.

At Vintagehausinterior we are very fond of this type of chair and have used and supplied them to a variety of clients. 

An excellent example of midcentury industrial design.

These are the slightly wider 'Teacher' chairs which are very rare.

Beautiful aluminium swooping frames with bent ply inserts. These are becoming very hard to find now.

The chairs have been given a light restoration, with the plywood having been sanded, dyed and oiled for a beautiful antique finish. 

This type of chair works well in industrial inspired spaces, whether residential or commercial.
