High quality reprint of an iconic Soviet propaganda poster from the Intourist company, the Soviet state travel agency founded in 1929 to attract foreign tourists and shape international perceptions of the USSR.
The specific poster is generally identified as “Summer Sport in the USSR” (1936). Several archives and galleries attribute it to the Soviet graphic artist Maria Nesterova-Berzina (1897–1965).
The poster reflects Art Deco influences rather than the harsher Constructivist style associated with early Soviet propaganda.

About the artist:
Nikolai Prusakov(1900–1952) was a Russian poster and stage designer.
His work is kept in the Museaum of modern artthe National library of Russia, The university of Michigan Museum of Art, and the Merrill C Berman Collection.
