High quality reprint of a vintage french advertising poster for Malt Kneipp, a malt-based coffee substitute that was popular in Europe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The product was marketed as a healthier alternative to regular coffee because it contained no caffeine and was promoted as more nutritious.
The artwork is by the French poster artist Raoul Vion, and original lithographic versions date from roughly the 1900–1915 period.

About the artist:
Mihály Weinberger was the son of Dávid Weinberger and Róza Neu; the familyMagyarizedtheir name to Biró. He attended theRoyal Hungarian School of Applied Artsin Budapest . Between 1908 and 1910, Biró traveled to Munich, Berlin, and England, where he attendedanArts and Crafts workshop inChipping Campdenand won a prize in a poster competition held by the magazine*The Studio*. Biró worked in Budapest as a poster designer for both private companies and theHungarian Social Democratic Party. His first exhibition was held at the Budapest Artists' House in 1912.
